THE PACKAGE OF THE WAR MEDAL

​There are two types of packages for the War Medal. Both look like an envelope and are made of red thick paper (envelopes from the collections of Enis Pınar and Engin Huntürk are shown with their permission) (ANNEX 15 and 15a)

TYPE 1: Raspberry-red color, thick paper rectangular envelope. Envelope is 71 mm wide and 70 mm long.  Golden gilt imprint of crescent and star facing top of the envelope in the center. Folds like an envelope.

Red thick paper, lower width narrower quadrilateral shaped envelope. Golden gilt imprint of crescent and star facing upper left corner of the envelope in the center. Folds like an envelope. The lid is 27 mm long, including 24 mm x 10 mm tongue shape extension at the end. This tongue shape extension fits in a cut at the back of the envelope in order to seal it.
